Main objectives
To support the set up of an institutional and regulatory framework for the production of renewable energy and for the deployment of energy efficiency projects. In line with Algeria's efforts to diversify its economy, the programme will also help promote private investment (domestic and foreign) in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects

Main activities
Institutional support including policy and regulations (institutional reform, capacity building, support for implementing RE and EE programmes, support to pilot programmes, addressing legal and regulatory barriers) Support for renewable energy (support in development of public-private and private-private partnerships, tools and methods for integrating renewable energy to the grid, improved planning and use of renewable energy, knowledge transfer for local actors, facilitation of more involvement of the private sector) TA in energy efficiency (identification of technical analysis, feasibility studies, identification of energy intensive sectors, labeling for household electrical appliances, innovative EE actions in the building sector)
