Main objectives
To develop the part of renewable energies in Kenya's energy mix by developing the use of agro-industrial energy for these forms of energy; reduce the country's energy intensity by stimulating agro-industrial investment and the hotel sector in energy efficiency projects; encourage local banks to diversify their lending business to finance this type of project.

Main activities
The project is composed of two complementary elements: Component 1: bank credit open to Nairobi banks for the financing of renewable energy development projects either for self-consumption or for connection to the electricity distribution network, or including a significant energy efficiency component in the agribusiness and hospitality sectors. Component 2: An assistive technology (AT) specialized in conducting renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. This component is intended to support investors and banks in a new area that they are not familiar with.
