Main objectives
The objective is to improve the access to electricity for the population; reduce technical losses and underserved electricity demands; reduce greenhouse gas emissions by increasing the energy efficiency of the network

Main activities
The project consists in three phases: 1) the rehabilitation of 10 electricity substations in the provinces of: Mlandizi, Chalinze, Same, Mufundi, Mbeya, Dodoma, Mwanza, Musoma, Bukoba et Tabora; 2) rehabilitation and extension of the communication network using optical fibre cables and improvement of wide area network guidance with new softwares; 3) reinforcing TANESCO capabilities with backing the handover and markets follow-up in the achievement of environmental impacts analysis and the management of electrotechnical equipment stocks.
